| i agree...of course you can never compare a cover with an original...thats why its called COVER! but i personally dont think you should hate anyone just because they sing cover...some songs from cyndi which she ORIGINALLY sing are quite good actually... some cover may be better than the original but as uaual, a lot of us would prefer the REAL thing...again, i would say theres good effort that cyndi has put it. i will listen to both XD |

don't know if some one has put up the link before butp her this is where she puts up her weird acts... acting like ai otsuka in a very weird version of momo no hanabira. I think
she so uncreative for actually stealing Ai debut song and so arrrrggghhh desperate. I can't help but be mad. Her voice is weird and she keeps copying Ai's cuteness even if she's not cute. I have to hold on myself or else I'll start bashing.... Arrrgghhh. |

Oh wow, some harsh comments I see here, . Not that I'm into Cyndi (in fact, not at all), but she is very famous in Taiwan; you can't believe how many little girls (elementary and middle schoolers) admire her. Her voice is actually bright also, just doesn't show it in the song. (Ai does it much much better)
Ai writes all she sings, but Cyndi does not write songs, and in Taiwan Entertainment industry, translating/reversing songs from Japan and Korea is very common.
All I'm trying to say is, I'm from Taiwan, leave me some Taiwanese pride, lol!!! |

The grammar may be messed up, and I don't think people will care that much, but I saw some ones asking for the translation of the song that Cyndi covers from AI, so here it is~
======================================
Love Hang-Glider
Singer: Cyndi Wang
Lyrics: Yun-Nong Yen
Compose: AI Otsuka
Love has secretly fallen pu-ton (*3) (sound of heartbeats)
My heart is wandering on the clouds because of your kiss
Love you (*7) My love to you is greater than gravity
Just like popping soda pipipopo pipo (sound of popping)
The feels of Renai(i suppose you know what this means) are like flying bubbles
Miss you (*7) Missing you like a navy marching music
You say, love is just like a hang-glider
It flies us to a place of happiness
When gentle wind breezes, we fly together
Taking hang-glider of love, how far can we get to
The wish I dream and the promise you make
Are they flying toward the same big sky
Taking hang-glider of love, can we fly far together
We will do it tother
Placing white feathered wings on all wishes
Going to our beautiful future
LOVE*5
(Hoping so much for the future*2)
Wants to become Sun and cloud and falling in love in the sky
Let true love taking my hang-glider, flies and resides in the far far happiness
Even though I'm being impulsive, I still have to love you
Just like, loving you so much in my dreams
edit by eyn: Please don't create a dedicated lyrics topic unless the artist name is Ai Otsuka. btw, don't use colour in your post text please, read the rules for more details. |

| Wow the soda part is weird... lol... but... I have to admit I still pretty much hate Cyndi Wang besides the fact I'm part taiwanese. |

Came across this on YouTube:
Cyndi Wang's Cover of Momo no Hanabira - 愛的滑翔翼 PV
It appears to be ripped from TV or something.
Karaoke included in original broadcast.
meh.
Doesn't make nearly as much of a statement as Ai's.
[I didn't see the PV posted here, nor in the download thread for this song (only the ballerina-like concert performance). It's a recent upload at YouTube... Sorry if it's a duplicate link. ] |

Haha, it wasn't really my taste.
I don't think Cyndi Wang's image really fit with the pv, so I was a bit surprised. (though I admit I don't actually know much about her so I'm not sure if I'm one to judge.)
I agree about the no statement thing. |

Thanks for the link zyzzyva, interesting karaoke version of the PV, I can actually sing along with it by following the Chinese lyrics! lol, with that said the lyrics is nothing compared to the original Ai-chin's lyrics. Typical Chinese pop music just lack the kind of depth that can be found in J-Pop songs when it comes to lyrics, not to say Japan has so many talented artist that actually compose music themselves such as Ai-chin. Cyndi Wang just has the looks but without talent, unlike Ai-chin who happens to have both! |

There's a couple established threads about this version in the Asian Music and Off Topic Downloads Sections:
Cyndi Wang's cover of Momo no Hanabira
[YSI] Cyndi Wang's Momo no Hanabira
I posted a link for the YouTube PV here last week, actually.
I found Cyndi's version rather plain and boring. While her take (or whoever translated/transcribed it) is adequate for a simple pop song, it's lost all the unique quality of Ai's spirit and arrangement that made Momo no Hanabira a thoroughly enjoyable (and memorable) song.
Of course, we're biased around here...
eyn will probably merge this with the above-linked chat thread... |

hmm...so shock when i came across tis thread....wat a mouth opening performance by cyndi...lol..
i believe the original is much more better because of the lyrics and the way it is being sang and the singer....
but still cyndi might hav her own uniqueness or not she would not hav been so popular in taiwan....haa |
