really good movie... it's actually not as violent as i thought it would be, but still violent compared to other holywood films. I love this film. one of my favorite japanese films. i like the quiet loner guy since i can relate to him a bit Tongue and i also like the long-haired tough girl who was in the kill bill movie, although i wish she was in the movie longer.

I watched the second one, which was odd, but ok. I like violent movies with blood and crazy struggles and fights ^^;;
But yeah, a bunch of my friends and I watched it and everyone of them liked it, so i would recommend it <3

seriously the greatest movie ever made, I've seen both movies, read the book and have started to read the manga. The thing that is so great about battle royale is the fact that it makes you think, like what would you do in there postion, would you kill your friends to survive or would you take the path of shuya and protect all those close to you? that fact its much deeper than just 42 students getting killed makes it much better.

The actors for the roles of each of the characters are perfect IMO, from the goodies, shuya, noriko and shogo to the ultra bad-ass mitsuko, they are all perfectly suited to there roles. I also thought chiaki kuriyama's acting in this fil was amazing, much better than hers in kill bill. Its a shame that kinji died though, I was hoping to see a third movie, unless his son kenta decides to make one, I guess it will never be.

Battle Royale is one of my ALL TIME favorite movies. I've seen the movie numerous times (and I own it), I've read the book twice, and I'm in the process of reading the manga. I think that the manga is the best. The movie is fantastic, but I think the book is better because it has the possibility to go more in depth in the story. But then there's the manga, which has over 13 volumes, and that has even MORE time to go into the character's backgrounds (like with Yoshimi; you learn basically nothing about her in the film). And about the whole hentai thing, I was quite surprised about the sex, but it's not as much as you might think. Basically, the only sex is when it deals with Mitsuko's past. But yeah. They're all fantastic. Haven't seen the sequel yet, though. Heard it wasn't too great.

^ it does make you think how strong your friendships are.

I LOVED this movie so much. I kept on thinking I was on the island. I think I would've commited suicide, though. I can't imagine doing any of that to my classmates...even the ones I hated... What killed me, though, was the fat kid in the beginning that started to shoot at the kids as they were walking out of the "classroom". No time to lose, eh... Laughing And that kid that joined "for fun"...what a little sicko!!!! But, yeah, great movie, one of my favorites. Giggle

i've always wonder if that was part of the reason why BR II is not as good as BR. cause i think kinji passed away while making BR II, and kenta just took over the remaining project.
