I loved the sound of this song (heard on Hana Yori Dango), and now that have the lyrics, I love it even more (huzzah for singing along). Thanks so much for the translation, it's the best I've found. ^.^!
Just a quick q. though. The romaji translation says: "ikitai yo kimi no tokoro e ima sugu kakedashite ikitai yo"
For consistency with the last paragraph of romaji, it should be "he", else the last paragraph's particles should be translated as "e" and "wa" respectively according to pronounciation right? ^.^; |

I translated it into Thai, using the Japanese original version with reference to Vllasko's and your versions. To tell the truth I based it more on the English versions as it'd take me too much time to look for each word in Japanese. I kinda lack of vocabulary.
These are the confusing moments I experienced:
行きたいよ君のそばに 小さくても小さくても
ikitai yo kimi no soba ni chiisakutemo chiisakutemo
What's 'chiisakutemo' Ai has in her mind? She's small? You're small? Small star?
泣きたいよ 届かない想いをこの空に・・・
nakitai yo todokanai omoi wo kono sora ni…
And this last phrase.... 'I want to cry because my wish will not reach the sky'?
Anyway, I love how she plays with the word 'sky', 'star' and 'cry'. They repeat often in the song with various thoughts. And the PV is done very neatly, trying to transfer the deep thought of the lyric to the audience. Sugoi Ai-chin!!
Wow, my reply is very long....
And if you're interested, this is my version in Thai.
Thought I doubt any would understand. |

~temo is an ending meaning "even if/though" and it seems that she is referring to herself, but I am not sure... that's how I translated it, though.

Hmm... about this one... the wish does not seem to be the subject (wo is an object particle), but I am not sure...

| I don't know about you guys, and it's probably just me, but it's weird to listen to this song after listening to songs like "U-Boat", "Smily", or "Chu-Lip." It goes from crazy and silly to serious and solemn. It's a beautiful song, don't get me wrong, and the music video is pretty as well. I just thought all of Ai's music was a kind of joking around music, but this song really proved that theory wrong. Hehe. |

| ^ I understand what you mean. But I've come to understand that Ai is not all about the fun and silly image long before she released Planetarium. Other examples would be Daisuki dayo., Neko ni Fusen, Cherish, and Kingyo Hanabi. |

| Well, the problem is that I haven't heard all of her songs. I've only just begun to listen to her music (give or take a couple months)...so I haven't always been following her music like the fortunate people have. But you're definitely right, she isn't all silly and funny. And you know, maybe it's that contrast that makes her music so great. To actually go from funny to very serious and melancholy emphasizes those songs all the more. If all her songs were sad, then songs like Planetarium or Daisuke Da Yo would be all the less because of it. But since she puts in those upbeat and happy songs, the sad ones seem all the more heart-breaking. |
