It's been like two months since I watched it. It is indeed a very sad and touching drama (made me weep once or twice... in a manly way). There are some funny and happy moments too, though. I like the character development overall, and interestingly enough, I tought Haruto was cool since the first episode (unlike characters like Ryuji from Tokyo Friends, which just plain suck IMO :P).

Hi folks!
I just got back from Tokyo and in the airplane they showed 1 Litre of Tears _the movie_ or something and now I'm dying to find it.
If I google 1 Litre of tears or Ichi rittoru no namida it just gives me results of the damn TV series, but I want to find the movie!
And now I found this, so I can't be alone here
"first of all i......in case you guys didn't know, this one is th MOVIE version of 1 Litre of Tears, NOT the TV series one!!! The one with Erika is the TV series which they filmed at 2005,after the released of the MOVIE version(2004),and this one is the the MOVIE website... don't mess up
I think Asae Oeshi done a wonderful job by doing this role, she acts much better than the TV drama one. She may not pretty as Erika but she sure can act. They add a lot of conflicts and that "boyfriend" who didn't exist in the reality. This movie is more based on the reality, and all the acting are more realistic.
Please go watch it" @ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0494724/usercomments
Help...please |

Did anybody watch 1リットルの涙 SP ?
"This special is set half a year after the death of Aya. Her younger sister Ako is training to be a nurse, while Haruto has already become a neurologist at the hospital Aya was once treated at. The loss of Aya strongly affects Haruto, causing him to lose sight of himself. But after he meets Mizuki, a 14-year-old patient who has given up on living, he feels compelled to share with her the story of Aya's life."

would very much like to see it. just sad that there's probably no subbed version of it...
and about the SP, Kioku Fansubs is currently subbing it. not at the moment, thuogh, since they've got all of their projects on hold until the middle of july. we'll just have to wait, but i'm sure it'll get subbed sometime. |

I saw the Special awhile back with Chinese subtitles. And personally, I don't think it's worth watching. The special is mainly compose of flashback from the dorama, nothing really new or special about that But I must say, it was nice seeing how everyone's life is like. |

| this drama made me cry.. A LOT !! how we could have known that there is actually a pitiful disease like this ? this drama really does make us think about how lucky we are not being diagnose with any unfortunate sickness.. apart from that we learn how to be strong and tough when facing any problems.. whenever i listen to the song "Human" by K i suppose, my heart felt bitter and it cries *sobs* recalling the drama episodes.. T_T but i felt glad for myself to be able to watch this drama.. |

| I remember watching this on my friends recommendation. She was like "omg your gonna cry when you watch this" and I remember thinking "yeh sure, how do you cry to a TV show?" but...the inevitable happened. First time i watched it I cried twice which wasn't much, but when I came back to it a year later I really broke down throughout the series from episode 4 onwards. And it was because I actually felt what was happening to Aya. Not that I didn't the first time, but I guess I couldnt understand it. Looking back at it, it was amazing how she lived and truly inspiring. Words cannot describe how amazing Aya Kito is, and makes us realise how small our problems really are. A must watch again and again and again... |

this is a stab in the dark, but does anyone have english softsubs for this drama series? i bought the DVDs for it and now need english subtitles. i knew the DVDs didnt come with them, but i expected to be able to find them on the internet because i knew this drama was hugely popular with english speaking people as well. but i can only find hardsub AVIs of these episodes.
so i am wondering when it first came out, was there a raw version and softsubs? if anyone has a version like that, or knows where one is, i will be extremely grateful to know. |

This was a good series, but it didn't have the effect Taiyou no Uta had on me. In that one, she influenced her friends and stuff more and seemed to have more motivation in a way.. In Namida, her situation was more just like "oh that sucks.." then inspiring.
Don't get me wrong though, it was still really good and well done and I liked it. |

This drama is very sad, but shows how strong a human being could be! Aya even knowing that she has no future, she stills fighting for her life! The title fits perfectly, you can't not crying at this one and Sawajiri Erika really act very well!!!
I'm waiting for the subs of the special!!! |

@ krisiuns:
I already have subs for the special x3~
a friend of mine subbed the special herself and sent me her softsubs ^__^
but depending on which raw version you have/download you have to adjust the subs a little...but they're working |

I watched the show a few weeks ago. Its really touching. Especially the episode titled 1 litres of tear and love letter. This 2 episodes are the most touching.
And the whole drama is inspiriting. It really makes me think about living without regrets and don't dwell with the past, work hard for the future.
But i am disappointed about Erika Sawajiri. She looks cute in the drama and i hope that would be the image and attitude she would have off screen. But in reality, its otherwise. |
