yes yes yes! it's not good to call a piece of music crap. Apologies. I still listen to RnB/Hiphop like 50cent, JayZ, JT etc. I listen to actually everything, even this weird music genre called 20th century expressionistic(dissonances & fragmentation of harmony). To me, i value music in the effort and skills that is put into it. I put it this way, RnB/hiphop is the most "sampled" and "looped" music genre in the current industry today. Alot of music has been shamelessly "sampled" and remixed into another song without giving credit to its original owner.

"sampled" = taking a sound or a particular sound clip from another song or sound file and editing it by shifting its pitch, chopping it, speeding it up, etc and finally using it in your own song.

"looped"= A very common term used for music in our generation. It represents a sound clip like a bassline or drum beat playing over and over in the tempo given.

If you want to know how much effort is required to make a RnB/Hiphop track, try this program http://www.fruityloops.com . I guarantee you a Hiphop track in just one night. Make sure you have your own microphone for your rapping.

PS: eg. for sampled songs --> Akon - Mr. Lonely from Bobby Vinton's Mr. Lonely.
Groove Coverage - Moonlight shadow by Mike Oldfield 1983.
Well, just wikipedia it and you will know the history.

that's a difficult question... Confused
it's not that I hate R'n'B, I rather like it...hip-hop not that much...but I think, that R'n'B or hip-hop wouldn't suit Ai and her style...she has a cuter and softer style ^^
I also cant imagine Ai's voice in a rap-part or just in a hip-hop song, cause her voice suits perfectly her current style, which isn't R'n'B or hip-hop at all... Smile
so...I probably wouldn't like her R'n'B-version as much as I like her now ^^"
but what would interest me, is some kind of featuring with an R'n'B or hip-hop artist...just one single or so Giggle

so, conclusion: it would be interesting to listen to it, just to know, how it sounds...but I'm happier, when Ai stays Ai! Nod

I listen to Ai Otsuka because of her wonderful Piano songs, and those cheerful songs such as Frienger, SMILY, Happy Days, etc.

I don't think she would sound good in R&B and Hip-Hop songs, hehe. Lol. Laughing

yes, but that'd be hilarious to see her try to do a "cool" type of music when she's so cutsie & hyper! =P leave Hip Hop to Namie Amuro

I would not want her to go into R&B HipHop. It would be strange to see Ai-Chin in those R&B and hip hop costumes.
Personally i don't like R&B and Hip Hop songs. But if its Ai-Chin's composition, maybe i would give it a try.

I don't think that R&B / Hip-Hop would suit Ai. I like the songs she makes now.
I don't think she would "switch" from style.

OMG.

I cant imagine that. If she's given a chance to TRY it out then it's not too bad. But pls... Pls dun switch her current style into something like hip hop,,, That's really awful to be in Ai's trademark voice...

That kind of music does nothing for me so I wouldn't be a fan of Ai's if she made that music.

I vote NO. I know many artists change their style sometimes, and some succeeded. And that's their right to do what they want. As for Ai-chin I just can't imagine her hip-hop. I have nothing against hip hop but it's just not Ai-chin. My answer is definitely NO.
