oh please! i really can't bear that stuff
We have to make a distinction between Ai,the lovely person, and Ai,the artist . If she switched to that stuff i'd cease to love AI as artist...i'd surely dislike most of her new songs
Maybe I'd give it a try if she changed to Visual style ...an hypothetical band:
- Voice: Otsuka Ai + occasional duets with Yasu (Janne da Arc)
- GUitar: Mana (Moi Dix Mois)
- Guitar: Kaoru (Dir en grey)
- Drums: Shynia (ex Luna sea) or Yoshiki (ex Xjapan)
- Bass: Kazu (ex Kagerou)
- Keyboard: monkey man |

It's soo unlikely...
If she does, it's more likely for me to choose yes. But it also depend how the song will be.. |

I think it will be quite an interesting concept. her voice is diverse, but as we all know Ai, she is random and varied, so... we'll just have to see what happens next

I don't mind. The truth is, I've been thinking of seeing her wear SLIGHTLY skimpy clothes and do a little rapid choreo. Her hairstyle in Neko Ni Fuusen made me wonder about this: "Hmm...it looks good in her. Maybe she looks good in a hip-hop get up...Or even a hip-hop track."
I think Ai will do good, appearance-wise and maybe, vocal wise. |

Hmmm, 50-50. I don't mind. It would be interesting to see Ai sing differently, it would be nice to have a change but I'm still used to what she's like right now. But either way, I wouldn't mind. |

I would have to say yes and half no
does it makes sense?
It would be interesting,
i wouldn't stop supporting her
but mayby i wouldn't listen to his music anymore.
Since it would be just unimaginable to see Ai doing urban music..
I have nothing against an artist trying out new stuff, but HIPHOP?
I love urban music but well... Ai-chin wouldn't fit to that group.
Truly this is just my opinion but in order to make that kind of music
you have to have a background to understand the concept of that kind of music,
I mean yeah sure She would maybe fit to commercial hiphop
genre but not to the underground stuff where it's not about just the music.
Sorry if someone feel that they got offended,
I'm sorry but Ai is good where she is at this moment making good pop ballads and the other stuff she does |

| One of the reasons why I like Ai is because she isn't into those hip hop songs. Her current style of music suits her very well and I will be disappointed if she crosses over the hip hop realm. I think hip hop is more suited to Amuro Namie. |

Well, that's a really good question. I like R&B a lot, not so much into Hip-Hop though, but I'd love to hear some songs like that sung by Ai-chan. Of course Pop-Rock suits her the best but she is an artist after all and has to experiment with different styles. |

For goodness sake, NO!!! If Ai did such a move in her career, I would never ever buy any of her new releases. But I hope it's not going to happen Ai's style is unique: nobody creates music which is even close in style to hers. I'm sure Ai knows about it and takes advantage from it all the time, because she's one & only, not another 'photocopy' of singers such as Koda Kumi... I strongly agree with Rokit - yes, R&B / hip-hop are repetitive. And therefore listening to still all the same performed ONLY by different singers is boring. I believe that Ai knows what's good for her and after recording one 'Aisu x Time' she will end her hip-hop experiments |

Wow, almost 50/50!!!!!
With than you can say that Ai-chin would lost a lot of fans by changing styles.
I really wouldn't like her changing to that style, she would still be great but the thing I like the most is that her music is so unique, so "her" so "Otsuka" so Japanese in a way, speaking about R&B and stuff (wich I don't like) I would listen to American R&B instead of Japanese R&B, if I listen to japanese music is to hear something different and unique, not something that actually is done better in other countries.
I don't like at all those "Japamericans" singers and stuff, I like things the way they are, I like Ai-chin, I like her music, and she is one of a kind the way she is. |

I agree with Crystallas 100%. I'm not gonna be all "I'll love Ai-chin no matter what!!!11thirty" because 1) that answer's too obvious and 2) if she did a style such as, say VK ( ), I would drop her faster than a bad habit . She same SORTA close to R&B with "Himawari" way back in 2003, but that's about it. Sure it'd be weird, but I personally would like it. |
