| They put another best because they're milking Kumi and making sure all Kumi fans end up homeless. Personally I'm sick of Kumi's continuous releases. She has too many releases and too many gimmicks. |

I totally agree with you there, but I got Black Cherry yesterday and I must admit, it's really good. But it all feels like a gimmick, like nothing will last in the moment. |

Well it doesnt really effect you does it? Just because people, like me, are gullable enough to suck up her work, doesnt mean the heavens will thunder and the ground will split below your feet！

I mean THREE best compilations, a 4 A-side with a few double A-side and a 4 month tour with 50+ shows. She's pretty much hogging all the spotlight. She does release way too much. It doesn't affect me but it's just kind of sad to see that an artist has to release constantly to remain in the spotlight...  Kumi is a good artist and I like her but these gimmicks will ultimately hurt her career since continuous overexposure is not always a good idea. Her sales are already falling.
Also as HilaryDuffFanboy mentioned, her releases tend to be a hit-or-miss factor. Some are really good, while others are simply mediocre. I'd rather see Kumi slow down rather than release a ton of material just to have something on the market. Fortunately she did slow down a little.
She's not inappropriate or even transgressive and she never was. It's not like she decides what is to be released, her managers do. avex is just milking her for all she's worth. 3 best albums in such a short time span are overkill. |

I bought both from CDJapan because I perfer their packaging method. YesAsia has some of the Japanese Limited Edition BEST ~second sessions~ left but for $65.99 which is about $25.00 more then what I paid. YesAsia also has the Hong Kong version up for preorder for $23.99. The ~first things~ concert looks great from the parts I watched and skimmed though.[/quote]

Kingdom is amazing
I used to hate Kumi, which was pretty ignorant of me because I hadn't listened to so much of her before. But I love her music now, and her voice. I like her a lot more than Ayu.
I bought Kingdom and LAST ANGEL feat.東方神起, my first bought things of hers. I haven't seen any of her PVs before, but since some of her songs are still cutesy, or just cool without being overly ero, I don't think they'll be too bad. I hope Kingdom does well, it's tons better than Black Cherry. |

I used to hate Kumi too, but when I heard BUT I just caved in  She's now one of my favorite artists, just behind Ayu and Ai.
About Kingdom, I like the album, pretty solid in both single, and album tracks, unlike Black Cherry, in which only the single tracks were any good. My favorites are: Amai Wana, BUT, Black Cherry, LAST ANGEL, FREAKY. I only wish Run for your Life and Dear Family were included in the album, and it'd be perfect |

LAST ANGEL made me listen to Black Cherry (the album, not the INTRODUCTION track). Puppy & Cherry Girl were most favorite besides Get Up & Move!! and JUICY (even though the lyrics are like whoa). It made me like her a little more. Then yume no uta and Candle Light made me realise her ballads aren't that bad. But in Kingdom, making me fall in love with her and it were amai wana, Under, MORE and BUT, which is my favorite song out of all. So, we sort of like the same songs ?
You're right about Black Cherry having really strong singles and poor album tracks.
When they were put together, it didn't flow really well, and I want to go deaf every time I hear ningyo hime playing. The album, I didn't hate it, I just don't think it deserved to sell so much. I probably won't buy it either, unless I become a rabid Kuu fan sometime soon...
I thought Dear Family was a little boring, so I've never listened to all of it. I've never listened to Run for your Life either, but the PV is on the DVD, so when my copy gets here I'll listen to it. I sort of wish they hadn't put some tracks on Kingdom though, like Wonderland. It seemed to come out of nowhere. It's a nice song but I don't think it fits really well. Anyway, this is my favorite CD now, second only to LOVE PiECE.
I love Kingdom even more than Amuro's PLAY.

Yeah we seem to like kinda the same songs, I dont really care for MORE though.
About Black Cherry, I dont really think it should have sold that much either, since the only saving grace of the album for me was INTRODUCTION, GetUp&Move!!! ,and the single tracks, which make me play the album like once every full moon in my car, because I have to skip like 5 songs, and I really dislike the flow of the album.
I still bought it though lol Mainly because of the PV's and the drama (which I havent watched yet lol)
I like Kingdom, but its not among my top 5 albums, at least not at the moment, but thats mainly because Ayu's and Ai's albums take the whole list lol.

Ayu? I like her older musics, and (miss)understood, RAINBOW and LOVEppears are nice.
But I hated GUILTY and didn't get the hype about it, or how it's supposed to be her best album in years. But most people think I'm insane when I say that. x|
I haven't seen any of her PVs except for: JUICY, Get Up & Move!!, LAST ANGEL feat.東方神起, 秘密, BUT, Wonderland, MORE. Wonderland is really cute, but also pretty scary. The giant hopping mushrooms and candy canes freaked me out a little. MORE is really weird too but to the point of being comical I always laugh when she starts to get on fire. But I love the song because it reminds me of something Alicia Keys-ish, and I love Alicia Keys too. There was this song she did with Christina Aguilera, Impossible, I think, and it reminds me a lot of MORE. Just because it has the same type of feel, I guess.
My Kingdom still didn't get here. x-x Tracking says it just got out of customs today some hours ago. It should be here tomorrow or Monday, since the office doesn't run on Sundays. So, I haven't seen all of the PVs or the full live yet. I'm trying to save it for when I get my own.
Did you hear about her "scandal" ? I hope it doesn't affect her sales too negatively, it seems like everyone is making a really big deal out of nothing, but I still hope. |

I found MORE incredibly boring, since it was only one shot, and nothing happens in that PV at all
恋の魔法was pretty bad for me too lol. I found 秘密cool too, I liked the way the PV was done in black and white, and the whole story was kinda interesting. WONDERLAND was like  when I saw it, what with all those dancing mushrooms and pink elephants lol I wonder what was she thinking when she made that PV.
If you havent, you should see the you, feel, Lies, Someday PV's they make up a nice story, and they're pretty interesting at least to watch once
I still dont know when I'm getting Kingdom, I really want to get it, but I also want to buy a dog, so maybe I'll get a dog, then buy Kingdom, DOLCE, the Asia Tour and the Black Cherry tour in March. But if I do that, maybe I'll be left without the first press bonuses
Yeah I heard about the scandal earlier, omg I cant believe it was blown so out of proportion! The way I see it she was just talking about how she wanted to have children before 35, so she used that sentence, and the drama started.
I think it'll hurt her sales, since she wont be doing any promotion at all now, and maybe Vise is terminating her contract.
About Ayu, I love all her albums, so GUILTY was no exception , but maybe if you arent into her rock music I can see how you'd dislike it. |
