i dont think AMI will replace AYUMI, but i dont think Ai will either, maybe AI is best suitable to be the j-pop princess, not the J-POP QUEEN, there's already a post on this subject i think, and although i really like AI i dont think is happening, I'm not a BoA fan but i think if ayumi leaves BoA COULD TAKE HER PLACE, she has more expirience and fans, and although BoA's videos and songs are not something awesome to my standards, she has potential, i think AI will look better for the j-pop princess competition along w/ Maki Goto and Nami Tamaki ^___^

Talking about Nami Tamaki, I downloaded her first album and my impression is "...it's okay". Why is she going big, does she has as much talent as Ai? Her song is rather pop-ish, but certainly not as diverse and up to standard compare to Ai's songs. Sorry if I offended any Nami Tamaki's fans, I tried to like her but her song really isn't my type of music.

btw, people are comparing Ai with BoA or Ayu because Ai really is "that" good, I don't think either Maki Goto or Nami Tamaki will pose much threat to Ai's position right now, and hence no comparison can be made. Tongue

In my opinion, Nami Tamaki is pretty big was probably due to her singing one of the Gundam theme songs. I think that is what brought her to stardom.

Hmm.. Nami Tamaki is a rather good singer and an excellent dancer. She has a very clear voice and can dance while singing too. I think she has what it needs to become big too.. so I suggest you keep your eyes on her. She's a very talented performer. She's had chances to sing songs for Gundam Seed and a couple of other games I believe.

Also Mika Nakashima is pretty big even if she sings only ballads, her albums sell like hotcakes. I am not sure why but she has a huge fanbase behind her.

Hmm.. sorry if I offend some BoA fans but I don't think she'll ever become j-pop queen. She's been in the music scene for ages now and everyone kept saying how she's going to beat Ayu but that never happened. She is a pretty good singer/dancer but her music is not very diverse.

Ai has a good chance if Avex promotes her well. We'll wait and see I guess..

However Ami Suzuki has close to null chance to become queen so it's pretty out of the question.

Lol eyn thats pure fanboyism man.

You cross out Nami instant;y
Make Ai look very Good Tongue
And then start to say how Maki Goto and Nami will not pose much threat to Ai(which i sorta agree but not because of facts but like u i'm an Ai fanboy ^^)
Then you said no comparison can be made.

Good move

The reason why no comparison allowed: They pale in comparison so much that its an audacious thing to even try to compare...
*Fanboyism at one of its peaks!!*

I don't think tt it really matters whether they r rival or wat so ever.
What's important is the quality of their music? Does their music match up to their popularity?
And the fans should not worry bout the rival too cos if u r the fan of any idol u should continue supporting them no matter how popular she/he is or whether he's the next pop princess or king.
I hope i made some sense there.. Embarassed
