Oh wow, dumped then? That's kinda... "...".
Haha if you need help, don't poke me, lol or else I'll probably tell you the wrong thing.
I found Cyndi's version... I find it odd that they changed the beginning if it was a cover.
edit: wow I can't really tell what I was talking about in any of my old posts! lol. |

I'll try to elaborate on Cyndi as I do own some of her albums.
The petite girl actually has very nice and strong vocals in my opinion. She used to have a stronger voice and character in her first album.
Her First "A-side" - Cinderella's Tears
From her second album onwards, Cyndi has been transformed into a cutesy little girl which looks like she needs a lot of love and protection from all the guys out there. Wearing school-uniform dancing and chirping to the beat of fast-paced happy music has been her trademark ever since. Ever since this change, she has been labeled "sweet princess" in Taiwan for her cute and sweet vocals, blah blah, you all get the idea.
Her Second "A-side" - Love You
She has been rumored to lip-sync her fast-songs during her concert which involve a lot of dance moves and jumping around (I believe she does lip-sync her fast songs, she doesn't even pant and the voice is perfect like playing from CD) . I've seen her sing slow and emotional love songs on her live concert vcd and I must say she does a pretty good job .
Most of my friends either like her a lot or hate her to the core. I personally don't like her fast songs, her slow songs are more to my taste
A song actually written for her,
Cyndi - I will be alright
Cyndi's version of Momo No Hanabira is not really that nice either, its just like what you all say, it spoils the work of our dear Ai-chan . Cyndi's voice is quite weak in that song and the lyrics are of less meaning. It would probably sound nice if I hadn't heard the original version by Ai-chan.
To be fair to Cyndi though, quite a number of songs she sang originated from other artists (especially non-chinese artists) and I believe she hasn't got much of a say in what song she wants to sing. A lot of people say that she's trying to act cute, but I think thats the image that the recording company wants her to be. It's like people saying Koda Kumi's image is very slutty, but in fact she is very talented.
So after this introduction, I hope there isn't as much hate going around Cyndi for her version of Momo .
Both Ai and Cyndi are hardworking artists. |

Jason wrote: Well, i am kinda agree with you but there are some of the powerful singers can sing even better than the original. Obvoiusly Cyndi Wang is not one of them.
Yea, agree with ya, Jason!
such as Mariah carey, Lionel Richie, Whitney houston, of cos Ai can if she wanted herself ( to cover ppl's song), but Ai makes a good composer herself..
Cyndi, Long way... Ai is far better than her singing... cant bring into compare, seriously
( PEACE Ai said, so no offense.. dun flame me ) |

i remember when i went to china, and on tv i saw cyndi's music video for DA DA DA and i really liked it and thought it was similar to Aichin's style, but i didn't know her name so when i came back to america, i tried to find it but couldn't. then i saw cyndi's cover of momo no hanabira which brought me back to DA DA DA on youtube! full of coincidences! |

Yikes...this thread was an "I Hate Cyndi Wang" thread for the longest time I've heard it before, I wouldn't say it's awful, but Ai's is definitely better. Cyndi's melody was awkward and she didn't really need to do that random "la-la-la-la" part before the verses. I also don't like the way she went "love love love love love" during the chorus. Hands down, if it was Ai-chin vs. Cyndi then I Ai-chin would walk away with the first, second and third and even last. |
