I only recently found out about this drama and the initial episode aired yesterday so it is still airing. It is based on a shojo manga series by Hisaya Nakajo. There is also a taiwanese version drama titled Hanazakarino Kimitachihe and in mandarin; Hua Yang Shao Nian Shao Nü. I haven't watched the first episode yet but I will let you know when I do. Although my friend told me the beginning part of this episode had a hanayori dango essence to it. After hearing that I'm more eager to watch it The ending theme song is "Peach" by Otsuka Ai If any of you watched either versions of this drama what was your opinion?

yeah i've watched the first episode.. not subbed by d-addicts.. mine is chi subbed..=]
i think the chinese ver. is much more happier and crazier.. like their actings are more exagerated and funny.. but this dorama is kinda opposite i think..in the first episode, the beginning was pretty funny when Ashiya was bullied by her classmates(i think that's why your friend said that it got a hana yori dango feel to it...) but i expected Nakatsu Shuichi to be more hyper (like the one in chinese ver. but hey, he's not.. but maybe after few more episodes his character will change?) Ashiya looks pretty in this drama
in the chinese version Sano Izumi already knew Ashiya's a girl in the 1st episode, but in this dorama, I don't think he had found out yet.. next episode perhaps?
overall, i think its a pretty good episode and i'm looking forward to the next episode because the trailer looks super interesting. heheh. i'll give it a 3/5 for the 1st episode.. =\
for people who can read chinese, you can download here |

I haven't watched the tw version, but I did watch the first episode of the jp version
I found it completely adorable. Maki looks so cute. I adore her acting I have to agree with the Hana Yori Dango essence.
I'm 80% sure this is going to be my favorite dorama of the season. I'm still waiting for First Kiss, though |

It's a fun episode overall, garnering a viewership rating of 15.9% It's quite cool but I was disappointed that Sano wasn't able to notice Ashiya's true gender. But PEACH fitted well with Hana-Kimi.
The JP Version did not depend on the manga chapter flow and decided to make a few twists, which was rather exciting!
I'm expecting a lot for Episode 2. |

I've watched the Chinese subbed version too, and I must say this didn't exactly live up to my expectations. I felt that it was too fast paced, and the changes from the manga were too much for me to take. I'm still gonna continue watching though, I'm hoping the good acting and storyline will win me over. I must say Ikuta Toma is real Ikemen material! He's going to me by number 1 eye candy in this show definitely |

I didn't like it at all. I had to skip to the end to hear "PEACH". Oguri Shun looks too old to be a what? First year high school student, so like 16? They are going for a more "real" aspect of the story changing it around, etc....but how can you make it a story like HANAKIMI real? No way, especially with the plot arcs that was what made the manga so funny. Because it was unbelievable that all these people really thought that Mizuki was a boy. And Ikuta Toma...don't get me started. He wasn't in the slightest bit funny. He was just...an ass.( I have'n't read the manga in like a year but isn't he supposed to be a stereotypical "funny person" from Osaka?) It was only the first episode, so I will give it one more to redeem itself, but as of now it it not on my "watch" list. Especially after two things: Nakasu touched Mizuki's chest in like the first 5 minutes! WTF?! 2nd was they didn't make Mizuki a fast runner. She's supposed to be like crazy good, instead they made her...trip and bleed? yeah.... |

I absolutely love this drama!! I didn't watch the taiwan version, so I'm not going to compare. the storyline is really cute and I think maki did a pretty good job. she is so adorable! shun and toma did a good job too, they are "not" super cute...but they have the "style". and I think "PEACH" fit the drama perfectly! I just can't wait to watch the second episode~
I know some parts might not be realistic, but this drama is not seriously in the first place anyways. you'll just have to "adjust" your mood accordingly while watching this drama~ |

I absolutely LOVE this drama and prefer it than the Tw version.
In the Japanese version, I think it was made to be seen as a drama, not a manga adaptation. This would mean loads and loads of things would have to be cut out, since it's only 11 episodes. It was easier for the Taiwanese version to follow the manga closely since they have 20+ episodes and another season coming up. The Japanese version can only follow the main plot because they can't really fit everything in.
I don't really like the speed of the story either, but I think Horikita Maki is the best Ashiya Mizuki by far. Shun as Sano is fitting, but I do agree that he looks a bit too old to play a first year. Nakatsu's character is the only thing I'm disappointed at. He's really mean in the beginning and doesn't have the Osaka-ben dialect. I'm also somewhat surprised that Sano hasn't figured out that mizuki was a girl. Hopefully next episode?
I think this would be more appealing to drama fans than to manga fans because they would want something that is more accurate, but when you see the perspective of the producers, maybe this approach would be better. |

tw have another season of hana kimi coming up?? hmm i ddnt know that =X haha.
the 2nd episode is better than the 1st episode i think. maki is really prertty in the dress! and toma is SO CUTE! he suspects that he is a gay and this is so funny! hahaa! and the story about how sano saved ashiya is abit touching.. i almost cried when sano was injured. =(
i think sano will know that ashiya is a girl in the next episode.. cant wait!! |

watched the second episode last night....I'm always eager to watch the next episode next week!!!!! this episode was REALLY funny...especially when toma was suspecting he was "gay"...haha, that was totally funny. I've never actually watched toma act, so this is the first time....he is doing a pretty good job! and I like the speed the drama is going...I kept thinking all taiwan dramas were rather "long"....which kinda make the drama boring. but the speed "hanakimi" is going, its good. I was so touched when sano saved mizuki too....so thats how he got injured...I think its actually better than I didn't watch the taiwan version....so I don't have to compare.
ahhhhh, sano is gonna find out mizuki is a girl next episode....next tuesday...please come quick!!!!! |

There's a second twseason? How did the first season end? XD I couldn't finish it - like orange_ka said, Taiwan dramas are kinda long. I never watch them.
To be honest, usually I'm a manga purist and wouldn't like the drama if it doesn't stick close to the manga. Which, you know, Hana Kimi doesn't. But it's too fun to pass up!. And pretty boys, I am weak towards them.
I wonder how they'll compress so many volumes of manga into such few episodes though, unless they don't and have some ambiguous ending. |

| ^I agree. The ending totally asked for another season. Which is coming in 2008 I think. I just hope there's some closure. |
