WMP works fine for me when working with Last.fm. I stopped using last.fm in Jan because I had the same problem, the tags weren't working. Now the tags are working with wmp so I'm happy.
BTW, I joined the group now i'm waiting for acceptance. ^^ There's alot of members there. |

I'm under the name "survivalcompany"
But hey, can anyone tell me how to use the image charts? I put the code in the signature box, but it won't cooperate
EDIT:
It shows now, last.fm is just a bit delayed in showing what tracks I've played >_< |

I joined, i joined!
Sakura_Kunai.
Waiting for approval you know.
Also... you know the top artists/tracks?
Is that based on what all the members have listened most to?
So, the song that members have listened to most often will end up at the top?
That's very cool.

I think I'm gonna join...I've been eying members' last.fm playcharts in their sigs enviously for quite a while now, and I think I'm finally ready to join. As far as I know, my tracks (that I listen to/care about) are tagged properly, and except for the occasional downloaded preview of a song, I shouldn't pollute the charts. Oh! Except I know I have a space between "Otsuka" and "Ai" (The kanji) Will that make a difference, do you think?
Also, I would like to know how to make a cool chart, like, with an image in it. Like the ones you made, eyn, or mangomalte's Kingyo Hanabi one, for example. 'Cause I made one, but the tracks still have a little chart thing around them, and I can't figure out how to make them transparent.
And I assume it works with iTunes? Other than that, sure I'll join.
EDIT: Oh, except I need the correct title for Hikki's "Sakura Drops" but other than that, my tags are correct.
EDIT AGAIN: Ok, I got the right title from YA, so nevermind. Also, I signed up, and now I'm pending approval to the Ch-Ai group. My username is KerushiiAi, just like it is here. |

More and more users joining Last.fm, pretty amazing. I haven't gone through to process of approving all pending members. Sometimes those pending members has 0 songs by Ai-chin and it makes me wondering why they decided to join the group.

Yes, you got it right. Instead of visiting the Last.fm group page, the weekly chart for the group can be found at the bottom of the portal page as well. (use the "+" to browse through weekly top artist, track, albums)

That's how I tag mine lol. Yes it's the correct way of writing her name in Kanji.
Regarding how to make the cool chart, sorry I don't have much experience with them, you just have to play around with the not-so-intuitive web application used to make those charts. Remember you can click on the miniature table to select desired row, column, table cell etc. |

@ eyn
Ok, well, I'll go mess with it some more and see what happens...
And don't worry, Ai is my top artist right now by a long shot.
And about the space thing, in the list, it seems to get rid of the space itself on last.fm, so it should be ok, like you said.
@ RNX
Hmm... Well I had no problems when downloading anything. That's odd. What kind of problems? Like, does an error message pop up? |

So, as this forum is primarily based around music, I was wondering if how many other people were using Last.FM?
It is basically a data base which is made up of all the music you listen to while running the Last.FM client, creating a profile of what artists/tracks you listen to most, etc.
Wiki wrote: Last.fm is a UK-based internet radio and music community website, founded in 2002. It is the world's largest social music platform with over 20 million active users based in more than 232 countries. On 30 May 2007, CBS Interactive acquired Last.fm for £140m (US$280m), the largest European Web 2.0 purchase to date.

I'm sure there are a load of people on here that use it!!!

eyn wrote: Winamp is player for the mass, foobar2000 is player for the enthusiast. We want good tags here, I'm talking about Japanese tags for J-Pop songs, Romaji is for the J-Pop noobs that think J-Pop is English pop and someone lazy enough not to learn even basic Japanese despite the fact they're listening to their music. *shakes head*
Well I currently have Otsuka Ai tagged as 大塚愛, but I have track titles in Romanji as I am learning Japanese now, so once I can read Kana fluently I will change all my track title tags to their proper Kanji/Kana characters. Does that mean I am a noob?
I agree with you that foobar2000 is the best audio player though! Open Source all the way :-)

^ I don't know Japanese, but I still have track titles in kanji/kana etc. Even though I don't always know how to say the track names, I still learn to find which symbols go with which song. If you have to figure it out to listen to the music you want (i.e. to survive ) Then you'll quickly be able to memorize the track titles' spellings.
Actually, it's helped me to learn some kanji and some kana too. So I recommend you change them to kanji/kana. Though it's a pain in the butt to reformat your whole library, I know.
But anyways, your brain will learn what the track spellings look like, even if you don't read Japanese. I dunno why, it just does. |

^ You wrote stuff for Firefox?! You're my hero (or hiro )
Free t shirts are always fun. Firefox ftw!!
Ok, I sent you a friend request. My username is the same as here, KerushiiAi.
Haha, thanks! Yeah, this was my first set and I've always used it. I thought about changing it once, but everyone (including me) got sad and missed the Pikachus all over the threads, so I changed it back. So it was absent for about one day |
