Hey! I'm just wondering whether a new forum concerning the translation and lyrics of other Asian songs can be created? I've REALLY found the Ai's Translation and Ai's Lyrics forums extremely helpful, and I hope the same could be done for other songs! |

Sounds like a good idea, if only we have contributors for such a new translation forum for other J-Pop artist other than Ai-chin. If somehow we received at least 3 contributors who are willing to contribute to such a forum section, I would gladly add it, or it wouldn't make sense to make a new forum with no contributors. |

I was thinking about this too, when i previously mention should we have a translation for Ayaka's song. I think the lack of contribution is what is preventing us to continue with this. I think that it is hard to establish this given the numbers of active people now. Truthfully to say, it will be very successful planning this in the past due to the massive amount of people. So now, i think we have to find active contributions if we really suggested this.
I am thinking that if i can start a topic in the 'Asian Music' thread to look for contributers to help out and the artists' songs they want to contribute more. I think there is some who is ready contribute for Ayaka songs translation because they agreed in Ayaka's thread. So i think finding contributers is the point to enable us to continue with these ideas. |

I like this idea too, although it won't be easy to find people willing to contribute who are able in Japanese as well. I can try, but I would take ages to complete one translation |

RhNinjaXe, that's a great idea! I guess we could start finding some contributors and then we can possibly plan this out more thoroughly once we find enough volunteers. Maybe the Ayaka translators could possibly cross over to other songs?
tsukiko, that'd be awesome! Any contribution helps immensely! Personally, I don't mind if it takes too long, as long as someone is willing to translate, that's what's enough for me.
I would help out with this idea, but unfortunately I practically know close-to-nothing in Japanese. |

Yes, they could. But i don't know if they are interested though. So that's another poll to hold. Maybe you could use a trusted translation. And find some lyrics and try to translate, understand and confirm it with people who are bilingual in Japanese.
You could try plenty of ways, like if you are interested to learn, you translate 1 word by 1 word and you see what the word means. Then you join up the sentences together. Then to confirm if it is correct. You translate the whole sentences to see if the meaning is the same.
I am trying this now, however, is this a bad idea. Someone kindly direct me if you think this is wrong.
Thanks. |

i don't think it's a bad idea. i know i'm kinda busy, but i could try to translate some. i'm pretty much doing what RhNinjaXe says, but i've done it for a while so hopefully i get things somewhat right. but some song lyrics usually are deep and hard to understand, so i can't really guarantee it'd work out well. well, i guess you should choose to translate what you can translate. |

Hmmm...I sort of agree with you RhNinjaXe, but at the same time mangomalte poses a good point. Some (if not, most) lyrics probably have a really deep meaning that requires the help of more than just a simple translator. It's just like how in my French class; you can't depend on the translation of a machine because it sometimes words have two meanings or the context is lost.
But, I'll try to translate it word-by-word and form sentences I guess Who else is with us? LOL |

You know, I thought about something like this a while back. I never thought to suggest it though, for some reason...
Anyways, I'd love if we could do that, since I never know where to look to find translations for songs by other artists. (Especially YounHa's Korean work...if anyone speaks Korean, that'd be cool if they could help too...)
But yeah, I guess I could help with word-by-word slow translating too. Or at least make a pathetic attempt at it since my Japanese really really stinks.
But I'm all for other artists' lyric translations here. |

| I wouldn't mind having a go at this. I found translating quite fun and it was a good way to practise and learn Japanese at the same time! I found I learnt so much new vocabulary! I know this thread is a little old but if such a thread ever appears then I would gladly contribute to it! |

ok, so i've posted one translation in ayaka's thread. and more is coming.
so is this forum section being made? maybe it could be a subforum to Ai's Lyrics. but then again, maybe not, since it's not lyrics to her songs.... hmm... |

| Since so many people have expressed interest, I'm thinking we should have a trial forum just to test this idea out. |
