I was wondering about the meaning of this song. Im not japanese so even with the english translation I dont quite fully understand the content of this song. I know the song does not relate to her real personal life but is the contents of the song about a guy she is dating (i.e., boyfriend) OR a guy she is not dating but has feelings for (i.e., secret admirer)? For example, some of her lyrics say...
1. "in your pocket, put inside, two hands tied together, a secret that no one must know, gently, our love was intensifying"
Im a little confused about the word "secret" and the phrase "mo one must know" and whether these words and phrases mean a a guy she is dating (i.e., boyfriend) OR a guy she is not dating but has feelings for (i.e., secret admirer)?
2. "changes are unknown by my feelings, despite the thing occurred many years ago, I still thinking of you as my lover, our love intensifies"
Can someone tell me in what perspective she is singing this song? Is she singing in the perspective of her having a boyfriend OR her not having a boyfriend and a guy she is secretly in love with?

| That's a good question...I heard that she wrote 'Kumuriuta' while going through a rough breakup. Since this came out after LOVE PiECE and Kumuriuta PV, maybe it has something to do with a guy she just met and she's admitting to how fast she's falling for him. I could be all wrong though. |

well, she was really emotional during her Music Station live performance of "Pocket" so i think that it probably relates to her actual love life
i'm glad that there isn't such an obsession over Ai's personal life and that the focus is on her music... and i guess sometimes how cute she is  |

^ But didn't she write Pocket a long time ago, and perform it at like, the LOVE IS BORN concert or something? Well, I don't know, but I do know that she performed it at a concert quite a while ago, because we've all been dying to hear it for about a year now.  |

^ Yeah, I checked thePPN, and she performed it at Love is Born.
I'm not sure...but maybe for the reason you said...maybe just because the song means a lot to her? I dunno...well, on one of the concert DVDs I have, she cries while she's singing LOVE MUSiC at the end.  I guess she's just an emotional person. |

yeah i read somewhere before that she likes to cry? haha.

Thanks so much for the wonderful translation! I am amazed by the depth that Ai exibits in her songs by what seems to be (at least in English) simplistic messages. But the great thing about her, and a lot of Jpop artists, is that they put a lot more 'hidden' messages into their songs - making what seems to be a love song more than just a love song! Yay!
My question is: What is the pocket? I mean, i know what a pocket is but what is the significance of the hands in the pocket? Does anyone know/have imput this? I have a few thoughts but it changes with each stanza...argh.
And she does look really emotional towards the end of the song. When she's singing she seems so happy but towards the end she wants to cry - as if she's back into reality or something.  |

Thanks all (vllasko, slijinu xarly1db and eyn) for the translation.
To me, the most interesting phrase (and idea) in this song is "pokke ni ojamashite".
She must have some secret story behind this. Why 'Pocket'? She (and maybe the man mentioned in the song) should know best.  All the lyric seems like a secret....known only by Ai herself. At least in my opinion. |
