I'm reading Angels And Demons by Dan Brown. I guess he's pretty popular, huh?
Cause i just recently finished re-reading the Guardians of Time trilogy by Marianne Curley. They're not especially well known though, but a brilliant adventure read.
And then i picked up Deception Point by Dan Brown, finished that and got hooked on him!
I totally recommend them for anyone who likes a good thriller. |

i'm reading the BONE series by Jeff Smith. i really really really recommend this one. it's a cartoon, but it's got such a great story, loveable (and funny) characters and great artwork. it's a fantasy story about three bone cousins (yes, they are bones) that find themselves thrown out of their town Boneville and reach a valley with lots of interesting people, dragons and... ratcreatures!
i'm currently at the ninth and last book. |

I'm presently reading "Out" by Natsuo Kirino. Interesting, but I didn't notice at first that it had more of a feminism theme, and I'm a guy. But that's fine. The storyline so far where I'm at is pretty good. A wife kills her husband, and her friends/coworkers help her hide the body in a pretty gruesome matter. Things go down, and they end up in a deeper hole. The story covers all 4 of the main characters (the murderer and her 3 friends/accomplices). Lol, I may say too much, so looking up reviews may be better. Haha.
Dunno if this counts too as reading, but I'm trying to teach myself Korean too, with books and CDs. |

During my trip I read one and a half books, both of which are really interesting in there own respects. Give these books a shot if you have some time to kill or feel like looking at things from a different point of view.
The Otesha Book is a book that's supposed the way people think about their everyday actions and what impacts they have on the environment. The book is structured into chapter based on different things we take for granted including: water, clothing, media, and transportation. Each chapter gives you basic facts about consumption and what negative effects it has on our mother earth, along with debunking some common misconceptions when it comes to each in it's "myth" section. A good thing about this book is that it walks the walk: the book is made from recycled materials and through the greenest means available to the authors. Furthermore, the book is for sharing so you can get it online for the low low price of absolutely nothing. Check it out here, just look under the download header to the right.
The next book is called Guns, Germs, and Steel which outlines why the world is the way it is today from a unique perspective. It outlines things such as why hunter-gather tribes still exist in part of Australia and Tasmania or why Europe had a "head start" which allowed it to conquer far off lands. It starts off with an example of a small group of Spaniard explorers decimated the mighty Incan empire. This simple example raises interesting questions: Why did the Spaniards have boats while the Incans didn't? Why did the Spaniards have powerful "guns, germs, and steel" while the Incans were still working with simple textiles and primitive weaponry? This book address questions like this any many more. If this is the kind of thing that floats your boat or you just interested in learning a lot of amazing facts about the world we live in, give this book a looking into. |

| I recently read Eragon by: Christopher Paolini, which u have likely heard of. For anyone whom hasnt read it : Its is an mazing book. The movie did it no justice at all. Its one of those things where the book is so detailed that they cant fit it into a movie. So ya...If any of you like dragons, and fantasy, and some fighting haha, and journeys, then Eragon is a book I would suggest. |

Just finished reading Different Dragons by Jean Little. It's a really short book (100 pages) about this boy named Ben Tucker and his fear of dogs.
Now I'm starting to read Kensuke's Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. It's about a kid named Michael who falls out of his family's boat when his parents were sleeping, and he gets stranded on the island with his dog. There, he finds another castaway named Kensuke. |

I just read The Stranger fro Albert Camus. I don't know if I should recommend it or not, since it can be quite disturbing for certain people. It's about philosophy, existentialism, etc... It's not a bad book at all, but it really depends on your type. Don't go for it if you like actions, lol.

Has anyone recommended Da Vinci Code yet? hheheh I did like it, though it has a lot of descriptive passage. |

^ i had to read The Stranger for lit class.
it was part of our summer reading list.
i found it philosophically intriguing. it has a very nihilistic theme.
i also read The DaVinci Code. very cool book! |
