you can even download it directly from this thread! tat's what I did ages ago and it took me, like, forever to actually watch the film, but it was worth it ^^
oh, wow, it was available for DDL here? cool. Smile i got mine from silentregrets.com. i'm getting Death Trance from there now. and the drama Yan Papa too.
edit: ok, i'm not getting Death Trance from there... watched the first part and it was dubbed, not subbed.

The taiyou no uta movie is good.

They really did a good job of it. Both the drama and the movie did an awsome job with the story.

i have to agree with you.. i was supposed to suggest this movie but saw your post ChocolateMesher ...
Taiyou no Uta is a recommended movie (and the series is recommended too XD). Its a touching and yet uplifting story about the life of a girl. It stars my favorite artist YUI, so its a more must-see flick! hehe

For contemporary cinema, you *have* too see following movies:

Tokyo.sora
Noboby knows
All about lily chou-chou

an the best japanese movie ever:

su-ki-da

Remember that these movies are top notch *arthouse* movies, so some people might not like it. But when you love cinema, you really won't regret seeing these films Wink

I watched suki da a while ago. It was interesting. Somewhere it was described as an 'artistic film' which seems to fit it pretty well. It had a really calm...quiet feel to it.

Didn't do much for me emotionally..nothing really stuck on me, but I can say it was a pretty nice movie.

I have yet seen about 200 asian movies, and I can tell you I was emotionally touched in a way; I still can't believe it ...

And how dare I forget the movie "Memories of Matsuko"? Smile

yes!! Koizora!! highly recommended Love
I watched it twice already and I still want to watch it again!! Laughing
There's also novels in Japanese and Chinese and 2 eps of the manga had already came out...the third one is coming out soon in chinese and japanese

The other one was Nagai sanppo, a long walk.
I watched it on the airplane when I went to Japan last December...it's kind of like...abusing child? but it's not bad..not like really violent and i cried for that...you just have to watch it Laughing it's a story about a little girl (who experience family violence) and a man (who used to be a school principal and i think he used some violence in his family too long back then) and a teenager who seems to be happy but suicide later......stories tie up with tradages of these 3 main characters

I know my explanation is really bad...might as well just watch it Laughing
