Thanks to Rinoa's review on the blog, I was exposed to alan's wonderful music and vocal. alan is originally from China but her talent and beauty caught the eyes of avex producers during an audition held in Beijing by avex China. I believe avex producers have the confident that alan's unique and soothing vocal together with her gorgeous appearance would make an impact in the Japanese music industry. As such, she was brought to Japan and her debut single was released in November 2007, titled "Ashita e no Sanka".
So far alan has released two single, and her third single should be released around June, as revealed by herself on her official blog. If you are able to read her blog, say you can read Chinese or Japanese, you'll realize alan is a very cute and caring girl. Her blogs are updated very often, and the way she wrote her entry is always very casual and fun!

'Ashita e no sanka' was a pretty good song. I didn't enjoy her other song in the single though...it seemed relatively normal and her voice (to me anyway) felt kinda like the stereotypical asian voice so I didn't think too much of it...I'm still yet to hear her second single though so I'll look out for where I can sample that!
Also, I don't find her that gorgeous either (she reminds me too much of Ayumi Hamasaki who I don't really like either). She sounds like a cute n fun person though! |

@eyn: oh, so you're a alan fan too? i haven't seen much of her personality (actually nothing at all), but from that blog entry she seems fun and cute. and wow, she's younger than me.
@Baka-Ranger: she sings in Japanese for avex, but she released a Chinese album before she was picked up by avex. she really shows that she can sing on that album, but i like her Japanese stuff better, both the songs and the fact that i understand somewhat what she sings about. beside her astonashing voice control, i like her Chinese accent. and it seems like she's singing some Chinese in 'sign'.
i heard there was a PV for Tokyo Mimei, but i haven't found any. |

I think with some promotion she might do well. At least I didn't notice any promotion. Anyhow I noticed the Hitotsu picture floating around somewhere and thought she was pretty. So I looked into her and was surprised. I enjoyed both of her singles. I think she has a good voice. For me her songs are mellow and catchy I look forward to more releases from her. I just hope she gets more promotion <3 |

She's definitely an artist I'll be keeping an eye out for in the future. Her style of singing (especially in Ashita e no Sanka) reminds me of Faye Wong and Emil Chow.
I'm tin the process of trying to track down her Mandarin album (Sheng Sheng Zui Ru Lan) but as far as I know the album is out of print. The songs I have heard on that album are on her official Chinese blog.
And I'm recommend checking out her PV for Hitotsu.
Oh and funny thing, if you go to her Chinese blog and scroll down till you see the promo posters for the Hitotsu single (the ones counting down to the release day) ... there's a HUGE typo on it ... not that I should say anything since I tend to have horrible grammar. But I have a bit of marketing background and honestly they should have either noticed it or fixed it. |

^_^ I love alan. I discovered her at a thread over at Crossover, and I tried out Ashita e no Sanka. It's been love ever since. I hope she releases an album this year. That would be awesome. Her music is just so unique and wonderful. |

Ashita e no Sanka is amazing. I have her Chinese album, and she pretty much covered most of my favorite songs. She's awesome!! |

I found it on the web, but I'm not sure if it's available anymore... I'm new to channel-ai, so if I want to upload it I should upload it in the off-topic downloads, right? When I get a reply I'll upload it. |

Haha really Ayumi? hmm yes maybe vocally but i dont find him resembling Ayumi
by looks.
She has this voice, like some
singers tend to have that when she hits high notes it gets screaky at some points.
She does though have quite pleasant voice, but like you said ~out of a box - nothing that special.
Well, well..we' will see what Avex *bakes* out of this girl, but at this point not my think,
Ashita e no Sanka was though great song but i did also find her chinese accent too disturbing at some points.
And that's why probably she didn't turn me on...and never been really a fan of this kind of music genre. |
