^ Does being a J-pop queen actually really matter? I suppose it'd be nice to take such a title but I guess so long as the singer remains popular and successful, there's not too much more they could really ask for could they?
From the really old arguments above, I wouldn't blatanly say Ayumi isn't the J-pop queen...she seems worthy of the position...but I just don't really like her that much. Her voice is a bit....stereotypical for me. So I'll go for Ai in this case! |

I think this is opinion anyway. What makes Queen? How much money she makes? How many CDs she has sold? Quality of music, determined by critics? or determined by distribution among various audience groups? All these and maybe others too?
Opinion is like bellybutton, yes? Everybody has, and everybody has different one! |

Does the "Queen of Jpop" title even exist? In my opinion, if it does, the media just created that to give recognition to the celebrity who goes all out with luxury and can obtain the highest popularity in both fans and releases. I do respect that each singer has their own unique talent and beauty; whether fake or natural, it depends on everyone's beliefs. Ayumi can be the Queen and whoever can be her successor. Nonetheless, Ai has achieved far greater success than anyone and definitely doesn't need anyone to stir her in the right direction. For example: becoming involved in the Green Effort with Japan's Ministry of Economy, publishing and producing the photos for LOVE WORLD (which she wanted to release as a means of changing people's views on the world and its inhabitants), writing songs based on her personal life so she can become a friend with everyone rather than a celebrity in everyone's eyes. She's such a down-to-earth and loving person. For her "aithink" diary, it's very apparent by how she describes her days and the life lessons she's learned over the years. So what, maybe Ai's not cut out for the "Queen of JPop". But little does everyone know that she's an extremely influential being. She's really going to make a difference in this world, I think. That's far better than any title or recognition. |

truly it doesn't REALLY exist...but ppl just say it so often
on the show MUSIC STATION, they referred Nami Tamaki as j-pop princess(watch her CROSS SEASON performance), Namie Amuro refers herself as the Queen of Hip Hop (she did consider herself that...heck she even has a song called Queen of Hip Hop).
Some ppl refer Otsuka Ai as the LOVE Queen (heard it somewhere...) |

As I said in my previous post, 'J-Pop Queen' is just a title. It doesn't really matter if Ai chin isn't going to become the next queen for her talents will still be there and fans will still continue to support her.
I think that 'J-Pop Queen' is just some title coined by a media then more and more other media companies began to adpot the title to refer to Ayumi. |
