Here's what I think.
Ai represents the cat. She (=the cat) was abandoned by the guy who in the PV was reading some book in the park. She (=the cat) was then picked up by the old lady. But even when she lives happily with that kind old lady, she always longs to meet that guy again, despite the fact that he abandoned her.
Notice that when Ai (as a girl) sees a dog in the park she is a bit scared and tries to avoid it. And Ai's behaviour in the room part is like that of a cat. So cute!! XD
She goes with the old lady sometimes to the park and is always trying to find that guy. Though I doubt if the part when she finds that guy and runs to hug him is just her dream or fantacy, i.e. doesn't really happen.
This is out of topic...but the cat in the PV is SUPER CUTE. OMG!! I'm weak against cats....

Thanks a lot.

Anybody wonder about the 'orange' Ai holds in HEART PV?
I think I understand the Ai-in-blue-dress mode. But why orange? |

Um may I know if anyone what do the words at the first part of the Daisuki da yo PV mean? The slides about hands and all... I don't really understand it but I'm sure it'll be very sweet if I know what it really means! |

^ The words at the begginging of the Daisuki da yo PV mean:
Quote: People have hands.
Hands= the part that comes out from your arms, used for grasping
For me hands are used to feel the warmth of that person.
I want to remember it forever.
I don't want to let go
But it's getting colder and colder...
So I'll keep you warm
I should have told you more |

| Oh I see... it sounds really bittersweet... And I think this stanza summarizes the song and the PV pretty well! |

I think I understand the Ai-in-blue-dress mode. But why orange?
I pondered on that exact thought for some time and here's what I think what the symbolism stands for:
The orange - Sweetness. Though, referencing the acclaimed movie "Renai Shashin ~Collage of Our Life", I believe one of the main characters makes a brief statement about oranges (or tangerines, perhaps.). It occurs when Shizuru Satonaka confides in Makoto Segawa about her troubles in life while eating the mentioned fruit. Makoto inwardly tells himself (or remembers later on) about how it was as if "her pain could be tasted while eating those oranges". Only later (I'm trying really hard not to ruin the movie for those who haven't seen it ), Shizuru tells Makoto about how sweet the orange has become for her with Makoto by Shizuru's side. For HEART, early on in the PV, that orange held some sense of sweetness for Ai. But without her special someone's presence, it gradually turned bitter. Which is why I think Ai retrieves another from that pool of fruit. It's probably a way of saying "I miss you, but it's time to move on." It's the essence of summer love, no? Crushes come and things may appear as if that one person who will make everything better, but they leave abruptly. And if the fruit that Ai is holding is not an orange/tangerine/etc., I'm definitely upholding my second prediction of orange passion fruit.
The blue dress - Nostalgia and sadness. Notice how when Ai appears in the blue dress, the video uses a tiny bit of a blurring technique to add to the 'reminiscence' section. That method is also used to show a cute Ai. Most likely, it's a way of depicting how she was before that love came into her life.
The red dress - A longing to pursue after something/someone.
It might not be too clear until the end of the PV, but compare the two dresses and Ai's actions. When in that blue dress, she sits and waits for that someone who she wants to 'meet right now'. While in the red dress, she takes charge and goes straight to seeking out that person!!! |

***Clapping hands loudly****
Thank you for your insights. I really love this PV and the song. The song itself is sweet and with some nostalgic shade. The PV emphasizes the song's idea and Ai looks really, really gorgeous.
One thing I love about Ai is that each of her PV is made with effort, not just putting the singer in beautiful scenary and show how cute the singer is. All Ai's PVs are done with some concept behind it which is not shown directly, but through some signs. That's her professional side i think. |

You're very welcome! HEART happens to be my second favorite PV, based on its meaning. And Ai looks extremely beautiful, as always.
You're correct. Her concept of hidden symbolism throughout each PV is amazing. The creativeness she uses for each is something no other artist can duplicate. Personally, I think "Kumuriuta" is a wonderful exemplification. Especially the scenes where she's dressed as a "zombie" and swimming around; such simplicity holds great value to the lyrics and perhaps, to Ai as well. Overall, Iwai Shunji and Ai proved to be an extraordinary team! I really hope they can work together again in the future to produce another masterpiece! |
