If you could get Ai-chin to collaborate with any other singer/musician/producer in the world, who would you pick? If you have more than one suggestion, let's hear the best ones.
My picks:
- Nakata Yasutaka
- Perfume
- YMCK
- Strawberry Jam
- Björk |

I would not like to see her collaborate with Nakata or PERFUME. Seriously Ai is much better than the electronica wave that is sweeping Japan.
I really don't know who I want her to collaborate with.... it's hard imagining her do so. Maybe ayaka? *shrugs* |

The Suzuki Ami songs that were "mixed" by Nakata were ok....but I don't think it would fit Ai
If there will be a collaboration with Perfume, that would be after Perfume's collaboration with Porno Graffitti....if the collaboration is successful, then Ai and Perfume wouldn't be a bad idea.....
Personally, I can't think of any artist that can possibly collaborate with her...because we never seen any collaborations from her...and it just doesn't seem to fit....and what can she sing when collaborated? |

Correction: Ai has already collaborated with Ami Suzuki on Ami's "Connetta" album, on the song "Like A Love". Ai wrote the song, Ikoman produced it, and Ai does backup vocals. It totally sounds like an Ai song, but Ami is singing. I like it.
Use some imagination, guys. |

i'm pretty much open to any sort of collaboration.
well, i guess there are some exclusions. rap and hip-hop for starters, because they are not primarily music.
and i guess there would be not much to be gained from electronic music. she is already exploring that area with the LOVE-chan stuff.
even if a collaboration doesnt work, it would still be a learning experience. |

It's a bit difficult to think of, really. There's no one off the top of my head that I'd like to see collaborate with Ai. Although jumping off of what pon pon said, it'd be really cute/amusing to see a LOVE-chan x Perfume
The first thing I thought of though, was Ai Otsuka with mihimaru GT. I'm not sure how hiroko's vocals would go with Ai-chin's, but it'd definitely be interesting. I dunno. I'll have to revisit this thread when I come up with something. |

It would be really cool if she collaborates with Yui...Ai and Yui kinda have the same voice tone... |

I'd really like to see a pairing with perfume, I think it would be funny to see her dance like perfume... And just because I like them soo much Ayumi Hamasaki or Sifow. Ayu ,ay be a bit powerful compared to Ai but w/e. Now Sifow, I really don't think Sifow has any were close to Ai in quality, bit I think she has lots of potential. Wouldn't it be interesting to hear a euro beat ai song? |

I'd love to have Ai sing a duet with a guy!
Due to her girly nature and focus on love songs it'd be nice if there was something a little more tangible to respond/receive.
Unfortunately, I don't really follow male pop singers, Japanese or otherwise, so I'm at a loss for specific suggestions...
Though MIKA would be very interesting...
My favorite of his is the Queen-inspired Grace Kelly, but he's also known for Happy Ending (for me, a bit too much like the old Vitamin C hit, Graduation Song, but the PV makes me think of Ai) and Lollipop (cheers you up like Ai's songs, and adorable). |

That was the very first idea that came to mind when I thought of this question.
I don't think anyone will ever replace Ai as my #1 favorite artist, but Perfume is definitely in the top 5.

Good one. I only like about 1 out of every 5 Mihimaru GT songs, but Hiroko has a great voice too. I find her voice doesn't work that well for ballads though; she does good upbeat pop and cute/silly songs, but doesn't have the same range as Ai.
I don't know what style the collaboration should take on, but I would want to see Ai with someone who isn't exactly the same (in which case there's no point in collaborating), but isn't too different either (like, Koda Kumi's style just wouldn't mesh with anything Ai does).
I thought of Perfume cause their stuff is cutesy and electronic very much like the Love project. And I'd like to hear Ikoman and Nakata Yasutaka work together.
Speaking of Ikoman, I feel he deserves a lot of credit for Ai's success, as his unique production skills are a big part of Ai's sound. She wouldn't be the same without him -- much like Eri Nobuchika, who I can't picture working with anyone but Shinichi Osawa (which is basically why she hasn't released anything since he moved over to Avex, from Sony). |

| When I read the topic m-flo and YUKI immediately came to mind. Even though m-flo's unlikely. m-flo has stopped their collab series. |

With who could Otsuka do a collaboration with, good question.
Since I havent thought such a thing in my mind, up until this day.
Now...like HilaryDuffFanboy i cant really seem to name a one specific it's hard!
but maybe Orange Range? She probably could be good choise for them for doing backup vocals or something. Since i just happened to listen Shanghai Honey, even though i dont listen this kind of music..but just for the sake of this....but neverthless so and thought this song would need a woman for backing up. And idea of Otsuka came on to me |
