I think close-up icon's are pretty hard to pull off but the third one that you made does a pretty good job in my opinion. I think it's because she seems like she's trying to hide something with her hands in front of her face and the cropping works perfectly with that idea.

I like the experimentation in the second group but my favourites are the two in the top left. The others are just a bit too busy for my taste, but to each his own. Nice stuff.

Thanks for the opinion! I actually though #1 and 2 were the busiest, and that #4 and #5 were -relatively- simple XD But hey, difference of opinion is why we make icons in batches!
