Born in New York City to Italian-American parents Joseph and Cynthia Germanotta, Stefani (later known as Lady Gaga), she is the oldest child of 2. She attended the New York Tisch School of Arts before dropping out at 17 to focus on her music career. In 2005, Germanotta released the EP "Red and Blue" under her birth name (pre-Gaga).
Germanotta was introduced to producer RedOne, who helped produce her first song, "Boys Boys Boys" (a mashup inspired by the Motley Crue song "Girls Girls Girls") and subsequently, her first album "The Fame" in 2008. During this era, she insisted on being called "Lady Gaga". The album contained the singles "Just Dance", "Poker Face", "Love Game", "Paparazzi" and "Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)", all of which were massive hits across the globe.
Her follow-up album, "The Fame Monster" was originally slated to be released alongside a re-release of her debut album, but in 2009, "Monster" was released as a separate album after Gaga lobbied for it to have its own release. "Monster" contained the singles "Bad Romance", "Telephone", "Alejandro" and "Dance in the Dark". During this era, Gaga collaborated many times with R&B singer Beyonce.
As of 2010, Gaga is in the writing stage of her third album.

Agree with you Koda  ....Badass~
Didn't expect someone will talk bout Lady gaga here  . Her style very unique.. some of my friends are crazy over her so much, like I crazy over ai-chan  . Some songs that hit the street from this lady are "poker face" and "just dance". I like both .

| Haha yes! I think she's amazing. Poker Face and Just Dance are a little overplayed but they;re still good, mainly Poker Face. |

I like her style, she something new and unique besides the Britney's, Christina's & Beyonce's that litter the industry. I just love her style, it's very retro futuristic which I think is just cool.
I agree about her getting overplayed on radio so much. Hopefully she doesn't fade some of the other promising young stars today. |

| She's awesome! I like her sort of mixed modern and retro sort of stuff. I'm addicted to her Poker Face song and Just Dance was just as good. I do agree with her being played too much, especially in Australia. |

God I hope not! A couple other stars have even tried to copy her style too (all black, with sunglasses and red lipstick)... ehh didn't turn out so great. For some really out-there reason, I keep thinking that SOMEDAY Lady GaGa will contribute with Kumi Koda...   |
