i'm just hoping this new english album is better than exodus 
that was a pretty dissapointing album...
love all her japanese albums though  |

I was reading through her translated blog entries on U.Blog and I just found out something that really made my day....turns out, Utada Hikaru was the result of an unplanned pregnancy (accident much?  )! I mean, imagine if her parents decided to have an abortion instead...epic J-pop disaster!! Not to mention I wouldn't be here cos I doubt I would've gotten into J-pop had it not been for her. Oh, the weird and wonderful ways our world works...
Speaking of which, I also recently got my copies of Heart Station and Ultra Blue (like, finally). The glossy cd booklets were nice ^^ Now, all I'm missing is First Love though I don't know if I'll bother getting it or not... |

Anyhow It's nice you got your cds  But you got to get First Love  It's a must have but I do understand why many people don't get it especially newer Hikki fans since they're fonder of her newer works but still First Love is her biggest album  Even though it's not my favorite album I picked it up to complete the collection oh that and First Love is my favorite song  |

Oh really?? Haha...I never really asked anyone coming to think of it so I just assume we were all planned  I'm....not so sure if I wanna spend time on the details...
I wanted to get the CD's in Japan mainly for two reasons...it's usually got all those funny lil ad's and brochures and stickers (like when they're 10% off) and I dunno, I sometimes like browsing through those too simply cos it's different haha. I'm not sure if any of those come with the ones you buy through stores on the internet. Also, it'll directly add to her chart lol. But OM*G!!! 1AUD gets like..58 yen???? So, what would normally have been like $30, is now like $52!!! $100 on two CD's!!! It's cos it's Utada Hikaru that I woulda taken the leap anyway haha, but if it was anyone else (yes, even Otsuka Ai T_T) I would've been like "umm...maybe another time" hahaha.
Hmm, I'm not sure I'm a newer Hikki fan...I've followed her since Distance and I loved quite a few songs on First Love (amazingly, First Love isn't one of them...) and I also have her first album, Precious...if I find it on sale sometime somewhere, I'll get it then |

HIKKI! my favourite singer!
her recent album, heart station, is really nice.
i like stay gold especially.
her song writing is really good and her lyrics are always so close to reality. |

I like the song, it's not bad. It'll be interesting to hear what the rest of the English album will be like.
I hear that her English album will be released in Japan on March 4th and March 24th in the States. |

I can't help but think how much of a amateur the cover to her upcoming single makes her look. The song is really well done even if it sounds like a very typical American R&B song but I kinda wish they made a little more effort to make the cover look better at the very least. A less matte background and a more stylish font would have done the job. Hope they do a better job for the album.
As for the release dates, Utada says on her blog that it probably won't come out on time. Bet she procrastinates just like everyone else hehe |

^ Oh my gosh the cover for her upcoming single ... not to be mean to be Hikki but that's one of her worse single covers. That font is as bad as the font they used for "Colors" ...
I really really hope she'll have a decent album cover for her upcoming album (that's too bad that the release date will probably be pushed back =( ). Of all her album covers, I really like Distance but everything else, I was just not a fan off. Ultra Blue wasn't that bad if I compared it to the rest. Actually ... Exodus (the UK version) had a nice album cover too XD
As for her single covers, hmm, I guess I would say that "Traveling" is the most memorable and creative to date.
What really irritates me is that she either has better promo photos or better photos in the album booklets XD
I can't help but wonder if Leslie Kee (http://www.lesliekeesuper.com/portfolio/top.html) did a cover for Hikaru ... what would it result in? Or even ND Chow ... |

^ Haha tell me about it!! And we have similar tastes in album covers too, except I didn't think Deep River's cover was that bad. She may be talented musically but it doesn't seem like she has much artistic sense when it comes to photography = =
I also agree that 'Traveling' had the best single cover but 'Can You Keep A Secret' and 'Beautiful World/Kiss and Cry' also looked pretty good. Didn't really like the rest >_< |

I hope her new english Album is going to be better then "EXODUS", which was a big dissapointment. The only songs I enjoyed was "Easy Breezy" and "Exodus"  ... But her other japanese albums are great ^^!
The new song is still ok. I was hoping for a faster song, but a ballad is still ok. Hikki's Ballads are wonderfull ! |

| Seems to me that Hikki going for a more "mainstream" sound with Come back to Me. But we'll never know unless we hear the whole album. I am one of the rare people who loves Exodus and I hope her second English album will be success. |

Hikki looks really pretty here and the guy in the PV is quite yummy ...
Sadly ... the cover for her new English album is the exact same picture used for Come Back To Me single. It almost makes me want to cry ... they used the same font but wrote the title in different places.
