Hello everybody!

My name is Piotrek or, as you may prefer, Peter, and I live in Poland. I feel so glad & lucky that I found Ai and her music. It was actually an accident that I found her - I like Japanese traditional music a lot and I were looking for some taiko and shamisen songs on youtube. Then I came upon Kingyo Hanabi karaoke song there. Even though I don't listen any jpop and hardly any pop music, I was almost instantly charmed by that beautiful melody. Later, I found more her music including videoclips where she sings other wonderful ballads. I must say Ai impressed me a lot. Not sure what impressed me more - she herself or her music. I think it's her sincere and full of love expression through her music, especially ballads, where she sings from her heart, so benignly & wonderfully. At least, that's how I feel it and that's something unique.

My favorite composer is also from Japan - it's Kitaro and my Internet nick "Kokoro", I use for years, comes from one of his compositions. You know, the first word Ai says in Kingyo Hanabi is "Kokoro". I felt surprised and a bit confused when I heard it for the first time. It was like she is talking to me. Smile

Any chances to invite Ai to Europe for a tour ?

I was also thinking to make a website about Ai in Polish language to make her more popular in my country. Not sure about photo, text and other materials copyrights, though. Anybody know how to contact Ai manager to receive a permission ?

Regards,
Kokoro

welcome to channel-ai, Peter (can I call you that? usually if someone says their real name I like to say that instead of their username.)

about contacting Ai's manager, I'm not really sure ... Ai's a busy girl especially this time of year when her big tours start. her staff I think must not be getting sleep right now! Tongue so for the time being come in and enjoy channel-ai here! Smile

Welcome Peter!! Boogie
It's good to have new Ai fans! Nod
You like japanese traditional music, have you tried "Natsu Sora", "Momo no Hanabira" and "Kurage, Nagareboshi" from Ai?
You can also try "Pretty Voice" wich has bajo in it (or something similar to banjo Laughing )

Hope you have a lot of fun in Channel-Ai and make a lot of friends Smile

@Koda: So I'm gonna call you by your real name, muahahahah!!! Happy
(Ok..just kidding Laughing )

I would be glad so be able to support Ai and her career in any way. Websites are something I'm doing recently regularly since it's part of my profession. I'd like to hear their opinion and permission first, though. Ai is like a Japanese treasure. Why hide such a beautiful jewel and not to gift her music to other countries as well? Smile

I love Kurage, Nagareboshi and Momo no Hanabira is also a nice song. I don't consider them as a traditional music but good music is always good music, no matter if traditional or contemporary. Smile I have to yet listen the other two songs you mentioned.

I surely have. You have collected lots of interesting materials about Ai here and it's always nice to trade a few posts with Ai fans Smile

@ Rodri: gaaackkk!! Sneeze

Yeah I also suggest those same songs. though try searching for "Natsuzora" as it seems to have more results. in the way of her traditional influenced songs, also try "Renai Shashin", "Planetarium" and "Kingyo Hanabi" undoubtedly some of her mega popular songs Smile

Hey! Welcome to the forum, Kokoro!

Speaking of usernames, when I saw yours, I thought "Oh, how sweet a name Smile" It's great to see a fan learn about Ai in such a way, as her ballads are heartwarming and lovely. I think her ballads are what really cemented my status as a fan of her. Anyway, I hope you stick around and have fun! Wink

Welcome to the forum Kokoro (Hiruda, I just welcomed you in your own thread if you haven't already seen Tongue ). That's quite a long introduction there, let's hope that accident of finding Ai on the net will be worth it! Hope you have fun here and participate with the other members!

I'll try and answer your questions as best as I can. Creating a website in tribute to Ai may not be a good idea despite that it is sort of good to spread the word of Ai Otsuka! Ai-chan international tours, I do not have the manager's number and doubtfully anyone here would have it. But it's alright, I live in Australia and we sort of have the same chances of getting an Ai international tour. Giggle

I hope I wasn't too late to introduce you, I've been busy working my butt of in school and I've usually been very active in this forum when I have space. Tongue I hope you have lots of fun here, cheers!

Hmm, I'm not sure if I understood you correctly. Why wouldn't be a good idea to create a non-English Ai fan site? You wrote that it's good to spread the word about her and fan websites are probably the best way to do it (at least, before the label enters a market to promote the artist commercially).

The problem is I would never be sure what is allowed and what illegal as far as materials about Ai are concerned. It wouldn't look good if I got a request from Avex Trax or someone else to remove this or that. Besides, when making some stir in my country, I should be prepared for people contacting me asking various things. That might also include local magazines and radio stations which I would try to interest with Ai. That's why I'd prefer to contact Ai's manager to set details first. Perhaps I'm thinking too much about small details and should just do that site nevertheless. As Koda advised to me, I will wait with it a bit and maybe things will settle for the final decision.
