Hi there.
I'm currently trying to head a project up at Kioku Fansubs for Tokyo Friends. i know soft subs in English are already available out there but having a good fansubbed DVD version of Tokyo Friends through a Fansubbing Group would be awesome, I think.
So if you're willing to help out with Translating, Editing, QCing, TypeSetting, Karaoke (for OP, EN and in-show performances), and Timing, please PM me or email me at horizon180[at]yahoo.com
All help will be appreciated, and credited.
thnx, looking forward to fans stepping up to help me do this properly.
^_^
PS. Kioku Fansubs are currently fansubbing 'Yoiko no Mikata', '1 Ltr no Namida' and 'Minami-kun no Koibito'. I'm currently translating/editing 'Yoiko no Mikata' and Translating 'Minami-kun no Koibito'. Please help us release 'Tokyo Friends' so that more people can watch it and enjoy the greatness of Ai ^_^ |

Well, that's awesome, horizon180, I didn't know you're one of the Kioku Fansubs staff! I know your subgroup has been focusing only on Japanese dorama sub so far, but I'm wondering if your subgroup can subtitle "Bokura no Ongaku" and "Otsuka Ai no Sekai", both of them are interview TV program in which Ai talks about her inspiration and music, personal life etc.
I think most of us here who are interested in Tokyo Friends have already watched it with English or Chinese subtitles. I know it will be nice to have a well-subbed version of it but it probably won't be as groundbreaking as say, "Bokura no Ongaku" subbed version. If your subgroup can only work on dorama project, that's fine too.
I'm not sure if I can be of any help since I'm very busy during school term, but I am definitely interested in learning the timing. Subbing Ai Otsuka materials is indeed a great project and I hope we can eventually have a Channel-Ai subbing group should we have enough talented people, especially translator like enlightened0ne.
So yeah, I'm willing to help, but my the time I can spend on it will be limited. |

Just the right time. My summer holidays have started and go for 2.5 months.
I actually fansub anime under the alias chibinyaa with AnimeYuki. I work mainly as a QCer, but I can also do editing.
I was gonna quit fansubbing soon because of 12th grade, but, this is Otsuka Ai!!! So, I am willing to help. |

hey guys
this is good, we've already got two people, and i make three.
so if i translate, eyn helps time, and hillarydufffanboy qc's, we're almost ready to go. we just need a few more people timing and a someone to do the karaoke, i already have an editor and encoder.. yes this is looking promising...
if a few more people join in, we'll be all good to go.
so if anyone wants to help out, plz pm me or send me an email at horizon180@yahoo.com

i'm not fluent in japanese and i don't even know what QC is, but i'll like to help out with timing
i've only done a fansub for an ayu ready epsiode. all i really did was the timing (i found an english translation to that epsiode) and hard sub it.
like eyn, i don't know if i'll be much help at all because of school (and finals are approaching) plus, i'll be away this winter break with no computer and internet access. |

thanks for the support guys. i can now confirm that this project is going through. i've almost got the whole team ready and as soon as i have everyone, we'll start.
i think expecting to see the first episode in the new year is a good approximation.
still looking for someone to help with the karaoke...

thnx for the offer effex but unfortunately we cannot use the subs that were already done for this series because that would be plagiarism.
we are translating the series from scratch and our translators are quite confident with their japanese skills...
look forward to them. thnx for your support.
