its o (oh)- tsu (like tsu-nami)- ka- ai (eye)
the o is not connected to the t in tsu |

you wouldn't normally say the tsu part as tsu unless you were speaking really slow or trying to tell someone how to spell it, it be said more like oat-ska the u tends to get said mostly unnoticably or not at all~ |

| I know the proper pronunciation is like OH-tsuka Ai, but unless I'm speaking Japanese for some reason, I pronounce Ot-su-ka Ai. |

I guess either way works.
I was in Japan last year, and I asked some store lady if they had OT-su-ka ai and she was confused, but when i corrected myself to o-tsu-ka ai she understood lol. |

| I've heard some japanese people pronouncing the "tsu" without "u"....so it would sound like otska ai...pronouncing the "u" fast. |

^ Yeah, that's fluent Japanese hahaha...another example would be like "xxxxxxが" whree the が is pronounced more like 'nga' rather than 'ga'. It's much more flowing and I guess lazy too |

o-ot-tsu-ka -ai
I can't explain what exactly you should pronouce
I suggest you to watch TV-performance of Ai-chin, you can listen what they say.
In fact, not all the Japaneses pronouce the same, you don't have to care about this too much
Just say it with your heart ^^ [ha ha ha] |

When typing her name in japanese on my computer, I have to use two o's to get that first character (two o's is usually used for that kanji as opposed to 'ou' for some reason, like in 'ookii'), so I should probably draw out the "o" in Otsuka a little more, but I usually just say "Oh-tsu-ka" in conversation. Sometimes I don't even give the 'u' sound. I hear that done a lot...
.."Oh-ts-ka"... |

Japanese pronounciation is pretty straight forward.
Oh tsoo kah eye
except when theres a character with "u" in the middle of a word or a name (for example otsuka or itsuka,) it's somewhat silent. So its as if its not there, so it would almost sound like otska. |

| ^ That's a rather westernized pronunciation...there's no "oa" sound in Japanese. The "oh" sound is carried out. A bit hard to describe, easy to say though |

No, I think as in oat is used as a example to show the prolonged o.
Also tsu is one syllable. You can say the u or not. It more or less is like speaking style. Personally I silent it because it is faster and sounds better in my opinion. It is like す like です or ます. Even though it is conventional to silence the u, you can still say it for style. |
